Review:
It was not a great movie. It could have been a great movie, but was let down in two main ways. First, two of the three lead characters are terrible. Blake Lively makes for good eye candy, but it just is not a good actress. She's not bad in small supporting roles (as part of the city), but it simply can not carry the lead. Unfortunately the whole film basically revolves around her (and she confesses), so that its shortcomings are brought front and center. Every time her voice-over came, I was humbled. It really was not a good choice. Taylor Kitsch no good. Again ... Good eye candy, poor acting. Acting very poor. He just does not spirit, and brings absolutely nothing to his character whatsoever. He should be playing in the movie Fast & Furious Vin Diesel opposite brainless, not Oliver Stone drama. The second major failure of this film is even more serious, and that is the story structure. We have never given the opportunity to understand why the three characters Lead (Chon, Ben and Ophelia) have such strong feelings for each other. He said to do, but never gave any real reason to believe it. This is extremely important, because literally the whole premise of the film depends on their relationship. If you're going to build a dramatic story about unorthodox three-way relationship, you had better explain in more than one stage exactly how fast it happened relationship, otherwise the public will not know why they should care about the characters. Especially when actors portray these characters are not very good to begin with. I know I keep asking myself why these two guys share girl, because they have absolutely zero jealousy, never once thought of as double-crossing each other, and because their care so deeply for him - until pikëne being willing to risking their lives and commit to horrible atrocities to save her. Where does all this love and loyalty come from? It has never been adequately explained, and the whole film suffers greatly to note it.On little more positive, actors Veteran t did a good job. Benicio Del Toro was wonderful as psychotic cartel underboss, John Travolta chewing the scenery in pieces, and Salma Hayek was completely believable in her role. Unfortunately, their powers only served to accentuate of lacking the small wires. Said that her scenes in the movie best of all was between Del Toro and Travolta, none of the three lead actors wherever , to find, and the promise implied in this film broke. A lot of reviews took issue with violence to show the film, but I do not have a problem with that. You really can not make a film about the Mexican drug cartels, without violence, so I did not feel it was free. Unfortunately, however, it also makes any movie more reliable than perspective.Overall conspiracy, I just dont think it was a very good movie . I dont think that Stone felt completely comfortable with what he was doing here, trying to be a few times, but failed miserably Tarantino. And also, I think that if this movie was in the hands of Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez, was likely to get much better, maybe even bigger.
